This heritage-listed house had stood for two centuries before our clients arrived. They wanted to live with its history, not against it.
We kept the original beams and the irregular stone walls, restoring rather than smoothing. Behind that frame, everything is new: a kitchen built like a piece of furniture, bathrooms in pale travertine, a staircase reduced to its essentials. The contrast is the point — old structure, modern interior, neither apologising for the other.
The palette is lime wash, oak, and weathered brass. The garden is treated as another room.
"We didn't bring style to this house.
We broughtattention."
