A new building, a blank apartment, and clients with a clear sense of how they wanted to live. The plan as drawn didn't suit them; we redrew it.
The kitchen moved to give the living room its proper length. A study was carved out behind sliding oak panels. The main bedroom suite was reorganised around a dressing room that doubles as a sound buffer between the bed and the hallway. Materials are kept few and used well.
The palette is ivory, pale oak, and oxidised brass. A single deep burgundy armchair in the library is the only departure.
"The proportions were always right.
They were justwaiting to be noticed."
